Mary Wimbury, Senior Policy Advisor from Care Forum Wales, will be providing some topical up-to-date advice on how care providers can best deal with some important issues including inspections, staffing and fee negotiations in her morning seminar ‘Top Tips for Care Providers’. 

Improving Dementia CareProf-Bob-Woods-DSDC-Wales

‘Five Evidence-Based Ways to Improve Dementia Care’ will be the focus of a seminar from Professor Bob Woods from the Dementia Services Development Centre Wales. Professor Woods will be looking at five approaches to improving quality of life in people with dementia including cognitive stimulation groups, creative arts programmes and recognising awareness in people with severe dementia.

In the afternoon, David Francis, Assistant Chief Inspector at Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales, has his seminar ‘Wellbeing, Quality and Shooting for the Stars’ lined up for attendees. This presentation will explore new ideas, celebrate best practice and look to the future. The seminar will consider the concept of wellbeing and how regulation across the system can provide both assurance and support and be a lever for improvement.
