Glasgow Care Event to be held this April

Registration for Care Roadshows 2016 events opened last week and has already seen floods of care professionals book onto the specialist trade shows which are taking place across the UK.

The first of the five events will be held at Glasgow’s Hampden Park Stadium on the 19th April and will host a fantastic mix of suppliers covering a wide range of products and services for all areas for the care sector. Exhibitors including Advanced Health & Care, Boots, Citation and Stannah will be on hand to offer advice and information on how they can help your care setting flourish. Also meet headline sponsors Quality Compliance Systems at the show and discover how they can help you deliver great care while easily meeting compliance and quality assurance standards.

The seminar and workshop programme for the event has been fixed and offers four informative seminars from industry leaders and two interactive hands-on workshops from Oomph! Wellness that offer ideas to keep residents active and moving.

Scottish Care Chief Executive Donald Macaskill will be speaking at the show with his session ‘Rights in Care’ which will look at human rights issues that effect care providers. Ed Watkins from Quality Compliance Systems will be looking at how the National Care Standards review is likely to change inspection methodology in Scotland this year in his seminar ‘TheCare-Roadshow-Glasgow-9-March Outstanding Journey’.

For those looking to learn more about understanding distressed behaviour in people with Dementia, Wendy Perry from the Dementia Service Development Centre’s seminar will address how carers can begin to understand distressed behaviour which will bring about a better understanding of and ability to respond to the needs of the individual.

Also at the Glasgow event, Rami Okasha, Director of Strategic Development at Care Inspectorate will be speaking about the new National Care Standards and how they can help support high quality care provision.
