Making your conversations count

Making your conversations count

BNational Exhibitor Masterclassroadway Events, along with keen exhibitors from Childcare Expo and Care Roadshows attended the National Exhibitor Masterclass last month at NEC, Birmingham. This was the 3rd National Exhibitor Masterclass of its kind brought to us by Facetime and proved to be yet another huge success.

The event was hosted by the comical Dutch favourite, Han Leenhouts as he entertained, mocked and got the audience up dancing on que to music throughout the course of the event – not forgetting the awkward neck massage we had to give our neighbour to help ‘loosen up’.

Throughout the day, the visitors were bombarded with expert knowledge and hint and tips to enhance their exhibition experience from stand design to networking. We were privileged to be in the presence of those who have literally been there and done it. Unlike other training events, the information provided on the day could be taken back and actioned immediately as well as applied to any aspect of the business whether that is marketing, sales or business strategy.

Rob Brown, CEO of Networking Coaching Academy, began his seminar ‘The 7 secrets to Successful Business Conversations’ by getting the audience to repeat a series of claps in time with him. It was made very apparent the lack of rhythm in the room as we all clapped hysterically out of time. He made the valid and obvious point of how we count our conversations and don’t make our conversations count. Rob went on to explain how he spent years collecting business cards and not valuable leads. By the end of the seminar, he has us reciting the conversation carousal to ensure it was embedded into our brains.

11713948_906673002726421_2421980013125844301_oWarren Knight, Founder of Think #Digital First, explained how social media can transform a first meeting from a handshake into a hug. Warren unravelled countless tips on how to get the most out of using social media and how to stand out from the overcrowded 5,700 tweets per second. With a whopping 26% of sales coming from recommendations on social media, got the audience’s attention and had everyone scribbling frantically onto their notepads.

We were finally graced with a dragon in the room when Rachel Elnaugh took the stage and proceeded to play the infamous clip of Levi Roots when he braved the ruthless Dragons Den. Rachel explained how building marketing into your product from the get go will help the product to sell itself by making it an experience. The event was rounded off with a networking opportunity and selfies with Oscar the charming robot who was invited by ESSA, an event sponsor.

Broadway Events offer complimentary tickets to all of their exhibitors for the National Exhibitor Masterclass as part of the pre-show marketing offerings.
