Childcare Expo Midlands 2019 Highlights

Childcare Expo Midlands 2019 Highlights

 Welcome to Childcare

It’s been a few weeks since we wrapped up Childcare Expo Midlands 2019 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry and some are saying it was our best one yet!

We had brand-new feature areas, Mrs Mactivity’s Activity Zone and Eco-Crafting and our favourite area, #childcarerocks, where we all got a little bit messy.

CBeebies’ Sid Sloane took over the workshop area with his energetic and insightful Brain Health workshop and Dave Benson Philips got out his guitar for some early years sing-a-long songs (of course he played ‘Baby Shark’).

eco-crafting

We participated in some mindfulness yoga from a YogaBugs workshop, the importance of physical activity was highlighted in Action Amanda’s interactive class and we saw our books come to life in a More to Books workshop.

Funky Feet Music got their dancing shoes on for Dancing Digits musical activity and Makaton introduced us the world of language and communication through signing.

We had a huge range of exhibitors, each bringing innovative, useful products & services perfect for the Early Years & Primary sectors.

On display we found everything from wooden toys to interactive tech-based devices and resources for every setting.

Among the highlights were TV show Chico Chugg, Community Playthings, TTS and of course, apetito were on hand to feed us all some tasty nursery meals!

eco-craftingWe can’t forget the cute chicks that Living Eggs brought along (we hope you were able to hold one!) and the huge variety of creative and interactive classroom resources from Hope Education and Talking Turtles. Edtech companies including Parenta and Kinteract were helping managers make the smooth work of the running a successful setting. With exhibitors covering every early years & primary setting need, there really was something for everyone!

We had two full days of seminars covering loads of interesting topics. The Curiosity Approach, gave us a fantastic and highly anticipated seminar entitled ‘Are You Curious?’ where they sought to tap into the curiosity within us all.

Jonathon Cunningham

The brilliant Jonathan Cunningham inspired us with a talk on leadership among staff and Maria Moon helped us to better understand how to create inspirational environments for the under 3’s.

It was fantastic to see so many of you enjoying yourselves during the show, we hope you left with lots of new ideas and resources to take back into your setting.

We are back in London in 2020, under our new name Childcare & Education Expo, and we can’t wait to see you all there!
